Students move through five stages as they grow, each building on the skills, confidence and repertoire of the last. Every stage is taught in ensemble – students learn to play with each other, not just for themselves.
Choir-based foundations in pitch, breath and group singing, preparing students for their first instrument.
First instruments are assigned and kept – strings, winds and percussion – with weekly group lessons.
Students join a full rehearsing ensemble, tackling real repertoire and their first public performances.
Our senior ensemble – advanced repertoire, leadership roles, and a pathway into teaching and mentorship.
Lagos Sistema runs out of three community hubs across Lagos, each offering the full program track close to home.
Our Teaching Artists are Lagos-based musicians trained in ensemble pedagogy and youth mentorship. Many are graduates of Nigerian conservatories and university music programs; several are Lagos Sistema alumni themselves.
